This policy explains what information AMERICAN NAILS AND SPA ("we", "us") collects when you book with us online, in the salon, or by phone, and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Your name and mobile phone number.
- Appointment details: services, date, time, nail tech, and any note you add.
- Your birthday if you choose to give it (month and day only, optional – online, on our check-in iPad or at the salon), and your visit history.
- Text messages you send to our salon number.
- If we ask for a deposit for a group booking, the payment is handled by PayPal. We see the amount and whether it was paid, never your card number.
- If you buy a gift card online, your name and mobile number so we can text you the gift card code. The payment is handled by PayPal.
- Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To book, change, and manage your appointments.
- To text you about your appointments (confirmation, reminder, changes) at the mobile number you book with, and – only if you agreed – occasional offers: one birthday text a year, a reminder when it is time for your next visit and, after a visit, a request for a Google review (at most one every 90 days) (see below).
- To answer your messages and keep your service history and rewards.
- To keep our website and records secure.
Text messages (SMS)
- When you book, we text your appointment confirmation, a reminder and any schedule changes to the mobile number you give us. We only send offers (birthday text, come-back reminders, review requests) if you say yes: tap "✓ Yes, sign me up" when our online booking page offers birthday gifts & VIP deals by text, tick the 🎁 box (never ticked for you) at our check-in iPad, or tell our staff that you agree. We save the date and time you agreed. Agreeing to offers is not a condition of booking or of any purchase.
- Messages include appointment confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, replies to messages you send us, and occasional offers. New customers may also get a one-time welcome message about our loyalty reward.
- Message frequency varies: usually 1 to 3 texts per appointment, and up to 4 offer texts a month if you agreed to offers.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or call us at (515) 207-1130.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Our texts may be sent through our SMS provider (Twilio), which only sends our texts for us.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our booking website and send texts (our web host and our SMS provider), only for those purposes, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and visit records for as long as we need them to serve you and for our business records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information by calling or visiting the salon. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
Security
Our website uses HTTPS. Only salon staff with a password or PIN can see appointment and customer records.
Children
Our online booking is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
